Hello to all my black powder friends
April is upon us so I think it’s safe to say that we won’t be seeing anymore white stuff falling from the sky, although that also means we’ll be seeing more green stuff growing in the yard that will need tending!
Our April meeting saw 10 members in attendance with several things being discussed for the upcoming year. It was decided to table certain things for further discussion at next months meeting (May 8th, 6:30 at Troy’s trap house)
The agenda for next month’s meeting will be: for all member’s to pay a fee for any lost gate key replacement, to discuss proposed constitution/ by-law wording changes, amending our safety/ range rule’s. if anyone has any interest or insight on these please attend the meeting.
All full members are encouraged to attend the Troy club meeting on April 19th at 8pm in their clubhouse. They will be voting on a proposed $150 initiation fee for all JML’ers and any vote towards out favor would help.
Any potential full members please stand by and we’ll let you know what the outcome is, and where we go from there.
Speaking of the Troy club, as soon as we get them (possibly at that meeting?) we will handing out all the Troy membership cards. All JML members should have received their JML membership cards by now, if not don’t be afraid to speak up.
Thank you to Mike Karcz for the donating the new steel targets mounted on the 50 yard line.
Thank you to Wayne Sorensen for getting the copies of our new club brochure printed out.
Our annual spring rendezvous will be held at the club grounds on April 28th-30th, there’s going to be a woodswalk, smoothbore shoot, bow shoot, tomahawk and knife contest and if there’s time some good old fashioned FUN!
Everyone is welcome to come out and see for yourself what it’s all about, you won’t be sorry you did.
The April shoot was graced with absolutely beautiful weather which seemed to break everyone out of their cabin fever. We had 22 registered shooters, a few that wanted to see what we we’re about and a couple previous members that had forgotten how much fun shooting muzzleloaders really is.
Range Officer’s we’re Beverly Decman and Pat Iffland with Lunch provided by Jim Flannery
Next months shoot will be May 14th starting at 9:30am the range officers are Beverly Decman. Curtis Capsel will be providing lunch. We need a volunteer for a second range officer, please contact Ken Papesh if you can help out. Come on out and get involved guys the club appreciates everyones support.
Until we cross trails again keep yer powder dry and shoot center is the word. Whiskey Jim
His mark X
