Greetings to all, this is your old friend Whiskey Jim. Let me begin by apologizing for my absence, as you all know this past winter was a cold one. Well I was setting traps along the river back in January and my hands plum froze to the traps, had to wait for spring thaw before I could let go of them to pick up my quill pen again!
To recap what’s been going on with the club, we’ve had some changes in leadership. We now have Rich Lambert as president, Tony Borello as rangemaster , Lee Henning as treasurer, Ken Papesh as shoot chairman. Ken Murphy, Joe Bukovsky and Mike Prisbe all retained their positions as scribe, primitive activities chairman and membership chairman respectively. Larry Suligoy will join Bob Rhoades as members at large. Let’s all welcome them and work together with them to help keep our beloved club going strong.
There was a winter camp back in January too, see the attached page for a full run down of those doin’s.
We also have the annual spring rendezvous happening on the 24th-26th of this month. Everyone’s is welcome to come out and take a glimpse into the past, as we try our best to recreate it.
There will be rifle and bow shoots, tomahawk and knife throwing competitions and period cooking. Come out and see it all for yourself and get a good dose of woodsmoke therapy.
Until then keep your powder dry, Whiskey Jim

A big thank to all members who showed up on April 11th for the work party. There were 15 members present. We work on cleaning up the club house, cutting away brush along the fence row, a new pipe was installed on the wood burning stove, and a lot fire of wood was cut and split. A special tank you to Ken Papesh and Rob Krueger for bring out the fire wood. It will certainly will be put to good use at the Rendezvous, and in the club house this fall and winter.
We have a great deal of opening for the shoots. If you can volunteer for any of the shoots as ranger officers or food. Please call Ken Papesh.

Greetings to all members
The 3rd annual Gary Richardson winter camp went off without a hitch. There were 4 woodsmen in attendance this year being, “Badger”Lee Henning, Rich Lambert, and 2 first time winter camper’s Mike Finnegan, and Pat Iffland. We awoke saturday to some very heavy winds coming across the field trying it’s best to cut through layers of wool. The wind gusts slacked just enough for us to have a woodswalk shoot that afternoon, no winner was declared on account of we were only shooting to shoot. As that was wrapping up Wayne Sorensen scrambled out of the woods for a visit, although I suspect he smelled dinner cooking(venison stew cooked in a dutch oven) from his cabin and just by coincidence showed up at mealtime? No harm Wayne there was plenty for all. With temperatures in the low 40’s and snow melting everywhere warm, dry feet were hard to find. John Sutton managed to slip through the kings men and escape the city on the last day of camp, always a pleasure to have breakfast with you John. Until our trails cross again stay warm and keep your powder dry.
