Hello to you all
The July membership meeting was held out under the troy club pavilion again because the weather was nice and the mosquitos were starving! We discussed and decided to have a work party on July 25th at 9:30 am to tackle a few painting projects also we will be renting a self-propelled brush mower to see if it would serve the club to purchase one.so if anyone sees a gently used unit for sale on the market please let us know
. There were also plans made to host a Boy Scout troop for educating them on our fine hobby of muzzle loading on Saturday September 26th at 9:30-10am. Anyone who’s interested in volunteering please contact Mike Priesbe or Rich Lambert, there was also talk of doing a primitive camp setup the night before to add some more fun to the scouts experience. Lee Henning came across and donated a heavy duty firewood storage rack that will be secured to the pad in the rendezvous area, it will be very useful in helping season our firewood properly.
Over the weekend of the 4th the club was a hub of activity, there were camps set up all weekend both modern and primitive (sort of a come as you are camp), not much fishing was done due to the mosquitoes are firmly in charge of the river area! There was a pistol shoot with 4~5 members turning out for that on Saturday. (Anyone interested in repeating that please contact Ken Papesh) and there was a rifle shoot held on Sunday with about the same turn out I believe.
Our July monthly shoot was graced with favorable weather again with it nicely cool in the morning and perhaps slightly too warm in the afternoon. A thank you goes out to Darrin Mcdonal and Mike Karcz serving as range officers and to Larry Akers for a wonderful lunch.
