Hello to you all
Its hard to believe were halfway through the year already.
The june membership meeting was held outside under the Troy club pavilion again, simply because it was too nice out to sit inside. All members are always welcome and encouraged to attend, the meetings are held the first Monday after the first Sunday of every month starting at 6:30pm at the Troy Sportsmans club traphouse.
A new wall mounted folding table has been donated by Ken Papesh and with the help of Tony B, Ken M, Jim F and Rich L was installed inside the clubhouse under the east wall window. Ken Papesh has also donated a handcrafted sitting bench for outside the clubhouse to allow some of the shooters a chance to work on their tan during relay breaks. Rich L has donated a logcart to be kept in the clubhouse loaded with firewood for the stove, its wheeled to make going outside for more wood easier.
Mike Priesbe has been in contact with a scout troop looking for volunteers to help teach them the in’s and out’s of muzzleloading. They have these dates available (all Saturdays) july 18th or 25th, august 15th or any Saturday in September. We will need 4~5 volunteers from the club to choose a day which works for everyone, anyone interested can contact Mike Priesbe or Rich Lambert.
Tony Borello will be setting up a work party for June or July to get some painting done around the clubhouse and the new storage shed, more on that as a date is chosen.
The following shoots are open for anyone needing a work party credit: July, 1 range officer. August, 2 range officers and lunch provider. September, 1 range officer. October, lunch provider. November, 2 range officers and lunch provider. Please contact Ken Papesh for more info or to volunteer.
The club wishes a big thank you to Andy Zamora for printing up the targets for the June meat shoot and to Curt Capsel for setting up and purchasing the meat prizes for the shoot.
Mother nature was being temperamental once again as the forecast for the June meat shoot did not look too promising, as it rained most of Saturday night into Sunday morning only to recede just in time to allow the shoot to go on as scheduled. With the clouds parting and the temperature warming up quite nicely.
There were 10 shooters present and thank you to all who came out regardless of the weather. Ken Papesh and Pat Iffland served as the range officers and Pat also provided a well rounded lunch. Here are the results:
