Greetings once again
Summer seems to be anxious to get started as we’ve seen in the past week. Let’s all remember to take things slower while working or playing in the heat, stay hydrated and don’t over exert yourself.
With the 4th of July weekend approaching I want to invite one and all to what a few of us have come to call “fish camp” at the club. It’s a come as you are type thing: shoot, camp, fish or just plain lounge around. Hope to see everyone out there enjoying the club and shucking off the stresses life likes to lay on us.
The membership wishes to thank Mike Karcz for volunteering to fill the position of member at large, and the club also wishes to thank Bob Rhoades for serving as such for these past years.
Tony Borello is working on ideas for a work party probably in July date to be determined. Things on his list are painting the inside of the clubhouse, recoat to roof, trim some trees and bushes along the club perimeter and perhaps repair or replace some of the shooting tables. Anyone wishing to volunteer ideas or time should call Tony to discuss the options.
The November shoot still needs two range officers as well as December needs one range officer, we need food providers foe the July, September, October, November and December shoots. Anyone wishing to volunteer for those spots please call Ken Papesh.
A unanimous vote was taken at the June meeting to approve to purchase of the lawn mower that we’ve been test driving for the past few weeks. If anyone hasn’t been to the club to stand in awe of the red beast, there’s no rush now as she will be coming to live with us full time. It’s a good machine and works perfectly for our application, it cut’s the mowing time down from 6 hours to an hour and a half.
The annual June ham shoot had 16 registered shooters who were welcomed by a wonderfully cool day, which was a nice reprieve from the heat of the two previous days.A thank you goes out to Ken Papesh for gathering up the target packs and working the shoot window doing the scoring, another thank you to Curt Capsel for outside range officer duties and for procuring the meat prizes. And thank you to Jim Flannery for supplying and cooking the lunch.
