Hello again to you all
Let’s begin by thanking everyone for attending the recent work party there was plenty of firewood cut up, split and stacked, the clubhouse received a much needed cleaning, and prep work for the spring rendezvous was done. If everyone has’nt seen it yet we have also purchased and had delivered a new storage building, it’s an oversea’s container that used to belong to Ken Papesh’s neighbor. Thank you to Ken and Tony Borello for making that deal happen, we will make good use of it. Tony also wishes to thank everyone who has offered help in getting things done around the club, without all of you willing volunteers we would’nt know what to do. Speaking of the spring rendezvous there were 14 camps and 9 members. Mother nature decided to be a bit temperamental and let loose rain Friday night all the way through Saturday evening, but the frontier spirit of the campers held fast and an impromptu shoot was held under the awning of the clubhouse. Jim (Jethro) Green from Pekin took the high honors.
The shoot had good attendance with 7 shooters signed up even with it being mothers day, the day started off rainy and slightly cold but warmed up some in the afternoon. Thank you to Rich Kettman and Paul Alphin for range officer duties. And to Jim Flannery and Curt Capsel for providing a very upscale lunch.
Next months shoot 6-14 will be the meat shoot cost of entry is $25 per target packet. Ken Papesh and Pat Iffland will be range officers and Pat will be supplying lunch. Pat is also going to be raffling off a rifle with the proceeds going to the club, test your luck and you may bring home dinner and a new rifle!
That’s all for now keep your powder dry and shoot sharp is the word
