March 2022 Newsletter

Fellow Muzzleloaders:

"Hello The Camp"

We have a work party scheduled for Sat. April 2nd at 9:00 AM. Rain date April 9. Wood cutting/splitting, brush hauling. Bring your work gloves, etc. and join the party.

The March meeting had 11 members present. Our new website is up and running thanks to Scott Sheets and Sean Cowger. We also have a Facebook page and Instagram.

Business: The previous meeting's minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer Scott Sheets read the treasurer's report.

Tony Borello would like to have a work party in April, see above.

Shoot Chairman Joel Akers announced the club Trophy Shoot will be a 100yd target shot all day from any position. Best three scores of the year determine the winner. $10 entry. Cash prizes and winner's name on the trophy at year's end.

Membership Chairman Mike Priesbe handed the member's dues to the treasurer for disbursement to Troy club and our share.

Other business: Sean has made up a great looking rendezvous flyer. See attachment.

Rendezvous is April 22-24.

It would be nice to work up a Last Relay column on Ken Papesh for "Muzzle Blasts" magazine. Anyone up to the task?

We had the first shoot of the year on March13th. 20 shooters competed under the watchful eye of Range Officer Rick Sheets.

Targets managed by John Sutton, and Ralf Mueller brought lunch for everyone. 12 members and 8 guests. Shoot results went out in a separate email.

This 'n That, Hangfires,

Larry Goggins is recovering from Cancer surgery. It was tough and still is, but so is Larry.

Pat Goggins is finally on his feet after a long haul with complications from Covid.

Also, Paul Alphin is making progress on his recovery from multiple surgeries. Hang in there, Paul! We hope to see all of you at the range soon.

Rendezvous is April 22-24. Come and camp or just visit and a palaver. See attached flyer.

I was told there were a couple new visitors at the shoot who discovered us via the Muzzleloading Forum. The marvels of modern communication at work.

A new replacement engine was given to the club for our wood splitter. Thank you!

I see 31 members on Mike's latest list, so we are holding our own. That's good news.

Larry Suligoy will provide lunch at the April 10th shoot. We need two range officers. Contact Shoot chairman Joel Akers or sign up in the club house.

I'm echoing an alert from Troy Club here, we are strictly muzzleloading only. No cartridge guns!

Keep a sharp eye and a steady hand. Whiskey Jim, his mark, X
